A rehearsal with two workable versions

Lena, Daniel and Owen are planning an internal exhibit rehearsal. They will use Daniel's own test photographs and blank sample cards, not any candidate material that still needs permission.

Part A — The preferred plan

Lena: If everything goes to plan, we'll run the rehearsal Friday from two to four in the side gallery.

Daniel: What has to happen before we go ahead?

Lena: The portable printer has to arrive by Thursday at five, and the gallery has to remain free. As soon as the printer arrives, I'll test one sample card and send you a photo of the result.

Owen: What are you using for the rehearsal? None of the unapproved photographs, right?

Daniel: Right. We'll use three photos I took myself and blank cards with invented names. Unless we have the right permissions, candidate material stays out of the room.

Owen: Good. If the printer works, what will each person test?

Lena: Daniel will check image size, I'll time the setup, and Aisha will review whether the sample cards are easy to read. You can test the visitor route when you arrive at three.

Owen: That's specific enough. What could still change?

Part B — A backup that protects the goal

Lena: The delivery window is the main risk. If the printer doesn't arrive by five Thursday, we'll switch to Plan B.

Daniel: Our backup plan is to rehearse the layout with plain paper at the same time. We'll test the wall positions, timing and visitor route, then test print quality next week.

Owen: So the whole rehearsal isn't canceled because one tool is late.

Lena: Exactly. We only postpone the printing step. Either way, the room, start time and permission boundary stay the same.

Daniel: What if the gallery becomes unavailable?

Lena: Then we won't move the materials somewhere unsuitable. I'll contact everyone by noon Friday, and we'll choose a new date.

Owen: That gives us two different decisions: printer late means Plan B; room unavailable means postpone.

Daniel: I'll put that in the update. If people know the trigger, they won't have to guess which plan we're following.

Lena: Good. As soon as I receive either confirmation, I'll update the shared note. Until then, Friday is planned, not guaranteed.

1. 真实未来条件

If the printer arrives, we will test it.

结构：If + 一般现在时, will + 动词原形。这里讨论有现实可能的未来，不是想象世界。

2. unless = if … not

Unless we have permission, the material will stay out.
If we do not have permission, the material will stay out.

不要再额外加 not，否则逻辑容易反转。

3. as soon as + 一般现在时

As soon as the printer arrives, I'll test it.

主句可以用 will；as soon as 从句用一般现在时。

4. 条件不是结果保证

If everything goes to plan只描述首选结果。可靠计划还必须说清触发点、备用方案和下一次确认。

F. A/B方案互动

两人选择 outdoor meal / online meeting / repair visit / study session 之一。共同决定：

• Plan A；
• 两个触发条件；
• 一个不会改变的核心目标；
• 条件1失败时的Plan B；
• 条件2失败时是调整还是推迟。

最后一人说明计划，另一人只检查逻辑，不替换成更复杂的方案。

G. 中译英情境表达

1. 如果一切按计划进行，我们周五两点开始。
2. 除非得到许可，否则候选材料不会进入房间。
3. 打印机一到，我就测试一张样卡。
4. 如果打印机迟到，我们会使用备用方案。
5. 我们的备用方案是用普通纸演练布局。

为未来两周内一项低风险真实活动制定A/B方案。先只写关键词：
