本课目标

学完本课，你能够：

• 不带指责地说明噪声来自哪里、对你造成什么影响；
• 用 Could you…? 或 Would you mind…? 提出清楚、礼貌的请求；
• 听完对方的解释，再协商时间或做法；
• 复述并确认一个具体约定；
• 写一条40—60词的邻里消息，说明问题并提出可执行的请求。

先想一想，不必追求复杂句子：

1. 如果邻居的音乐传进了你的房间，你会先说问题，还是先提出要求？
2. 对方解释自己不知道声音会传过来时，你会怎样回应，才不让谈话变成争吵？

Music through the wall

It is 8:35 on Tuesday evening at Maple Court. Daniel can hear music through the shared wall, so he knocks on Aisha's door.

Daniel: Hi, Aisha. I'm sorry to bother you, but could you keep the music down a little?

Aisha: Oh, sure. Is it coming through the wall?

Daniel: Yes. The bass is pretty strong in my living room. I'm recording a short presentation for work around nine.

Aisha: I'm sorry. I didn't realize it was that loud. I'm checking the sound for an animation, and I put the speaker right against this wall.

Daniel: That explains it. Would you mind moving the speaker to the other side of the room?

Aisha: Not at all. I can put it on my desk. Could I play it quietly for another twenty minutes? I need to check two more sections.

Daniel: That should work. Is there any chance you could use headphones after nine?

Aisha: Yes. I have a wired pair somewhere. Let me make sure I've got this right: low volume until nine, then headphones.

Daniel: Exactly. And I'll message you if I can still hear it.

Aisha: Please do. Sorry about that.

Daniel: No problem. Thanks for understanding.

At 9:05, Aisha sends Daniel a message.

Sorry about that 和 That should work 按高频基础表达唤醒；Let me make sure I've got this right 来自第4课，只作自然复现，不计入本课新负荷。

1. I'm sorry to bother you, but …

不好意思打扰你了，不过…… 适合在提出可能令对方不舒服的问题前，先表明自己无意挑起冲突。礼貌、中性，可用于邻居和不太熟悉的人。

I'm sorry to bother you, but there's a package blocking the stairs.

2. Could you keep it down?

你能小声一点吗？用于请求降低音乐、说话声或其他动静。对陌生人或新邻居，加上问题说明和 a little 通常更柔和。

We can hear the TV upstairs. Could you keep it down a little?

只说 Keep it down! 更像命令，往往带有不耐烦。

3. Would you mind + -ing?

你介意……吗？适合提出比较敏感的请求。语气礼貌，但请求本身仍要合理、具体。

Would you mind closing the door more quietly?

同意时可说：

Not at all. / Of course. / Sure, I'll do that.

为了避免 Yes / No 的理解混乱，直接说自己会怎么做最清楚。

4. The sound is coming through …

声音正从……传过来。它描述现象，不直接给对方贴上“吵闹”的标签。

The sound is coming through the ceiling.

5. I didn't realize it was that loud.

我没意识到声音有那么大。用于承认自己先前不知道影响范围，语气缓和。

I didn't realize the washing machine was that loud downstairs.

6. Is there any chance you could …?

你有没有可能……？比直接要求更缓和，适合对方可能有现实限制的情况。本课把它作为完整请求词块使用，不扩展内部结构。

Is there any chance you could move the boxes away from the door?

7. Sorry about that.

这件事真抱歉。高频基础表达，用于承认给对方带来了不便。

I left the gate open. Sorry about that.

8. That should work.

这样应该可以。用于接受一个看起来能解决问题的具体方案。中性、合作式表达。

If you can call after six, that should work.

9. Let me make sure I've got this right.

我确认一下自己有没有理解正确。来自第4课，用来复述双方刚谈妥的时间和做法。

Let me make sure I've got this right: no deliveries through this entrance after five.

Don't Say It That Way

本课只处理一个主要语言焦点：如何用 could / would 提出礼貌请求。三种形式的核心意思相近，区别主要在缓和程度和句型。

1. Could you + 动词原形 …?

这是清楚、自然、适用面广的默认选择。

Could you turn the TV down?
Could you move the chair away from the wall?

不要说：Could you turning…?

2. Would you + 动词原形 …?

它也可以提出礼貌请求。

Would you close the door quietly?

不过，Would you please keep it down? 如果重音很重，可能听起来已经不耐烦。礼貌不只来自语法，也来自前面的说明和语调。

3. Would you mind + 动词-ing …?

这个形式把请求再缓和一层，适合容易引起防备的邻里问题。

Would you mind moving the speaker?
Would you mind waiting until morning?

不要说：Would you mind to move…?

先说明，再请求

把事实、影响和请求按这个顺序说，通常比一上来命令更容易解决问题：

The bass is coming through the wall.
I'm recording something at nine.
Could you use headphones after nine?

连起来听，不必逐词用力

在自然语流中，could you 和 would you 常会连起来，听起来接近：

• Could you → /ˈkʊdʒə/
• Would you → /ˈwʊdʒə/

先慢后快朗读：

不必刻意把发音压得很模糊。目标是能听出连读，并让自己的请求清楚、平稳。

把重音放在具体动作上

Could you TURN it DOWN a little?
Would you mind MOVING the SPEAKER?

语调平稳，句尾不过度下压，通常比每个词都加重更合作。录音时分别读一次命令 Turn it down. 和请求 Could you turn it down a little?，比较两者给人的感觉。

A. 理解检查

判断正误。正确写 T，错误写 F。

1. Daniel goes to Aisha's door after nine o'clock.

B. 选择最合适的表达

从方框中选择表达完成对话。每项只用一次。

D. 先说明，再请求

把每组三句话按更自然的顺序编号：事实 → 影响／限制 → 请求。

E. 新邻里情境：洗衣机的震动

这个情境与主对话不同。Maple Court的另一位住户晚上十一点使用洗衣机，楼下能听见持续震动。两人都不知道机器会影响楼下。

如果有学习伙伴，两人随机选择一张角色卡；如果独自学习，先扮演A录音，再隔十分钟只看B卡作出回应。

Role A — 楼下住户

• 明天早上六点起床；
• 说清震动从哪里传来；
• 请求对方今晚暂停机器；
• 提议以后晚上九点半前使用。

Role B — 楼上住户

• 洗衣机刚买来，不知道楼下能听见；
• 这一轮还有十二分钟；
• 可以今晚暂停，明天白天继续；
• 愿意第二天在机器下面加防震垫。

完成对话时必须做到：说明问题、听完解释、提出至少一个请求、协商并复述最终约定。不要复制Daniel和Aisha的台词。

F. 实用消息写作

你不确定邻居是否在家，需要先发消息。写40—60词，必须包含：

• 声音或震动来自哪里；
• 对你的具体影响；
• 一个带时间或动作的礼貌请求；
• 一句邀请对方说明情况的话。

不要写成只有 Be quiet 的便条。

G. 随机回应

请学习伙伴或语音助手从答案区的A—D卡随机选一张，只读解释，不提前告诉你是哪张。你需要在五秒内：

1. 表示自己听懂了解释；
2. 接受方案，或提出一个合理调整；
3. 用一句话复述最终约定。

如果对方给出的时间没有听清，可以调用第4课的澄清表达。它是旧知识复用，不计作本课新增表达。独自学习时，可以让系统朗读随机卡；因为文字可能已经见过，这只能作为排练，不能冒充正式陌生声音听力。

H. 找出会让关系变差的说法

每组选择更适合新邻居的表达，并简单说出原因。

1. You're making too much noise. / The sound is coming through the wall.
2. Stop moving furniture. / Would you mind moving the chairs tomorrow morning?
3. Yes, I mind. / I'm sorry, but I need ten more minutes.
4. Fine. / That should work. Thanks for letting me know.

60—90秒邻里协商

选择一个你真实遇到过、或合理想象的居住问题，例如：

• 晚间电视或音乐；
• 清晨搬动椅子；
• 公共走廊里的物品；
• 关门声音；
• 维修时间。

先只写五个关键词，然后录制60—90秒回应：

1. 用一句缓和的开场；
2. 只说可观察到的问题，不评价对方人品；
3. 说明一个具体影响；
4. 用 Could you…? 或 Would you mind…? 提出请求；
5. 为对方留下解释空间；
6. 给出或接受一个替代方案；
7. 复述最终时间和做法。

第一次录完后，检查自己有没有只说要求、没有听取解释。修改后再录一次。

三天后的间隔复习

三天后，不看第4、5部分，完成以下任务：

1. 在十秒内说出两种礼貌请求结构；
2. 把 Move the speaker 分别改成一个 Could you…? 请求和一个 Would you mind…? 请求；
3. 用三句话完成“事实—影响—请求”；
4. 回应一句 I didn't realize it was that loud，并提出一个具体约定；
5. 重写第7部分F的消息，但换一个问题和时间；
6. 保留第二次录音或消息，与今天的版本比较。

为每一项选择：能做到／还不稳定／需要重学。

• 我能先描述声音或震动，而不是直接评价邻居“很吵”。
• 我能正确使用 Could you + 动词原形。
• 我能正确使用 Would you mind + 动词-ing。
• 我能听完解释，再接受方案或提出合理调整。
• 我能把时间、动作和后续做法复述成一个具体约定。
• 我能在不同于主对话的邻里情境中完成协商。
• 我能写一条40—60词、语气礼貌且请求明确的消息。
• 我完成了网页正常对话和逐句跟读，并能在不看文字时听懂主要协商结果。

如果有两项以上选择“需要重学”，先重做第5部分和第7部分C、E；隔一天后，再不看表达表完成第8部分的录音。
